Round Three Review

Round 3 has been run and done! We had a tricky weekend with a bit of everything, but came away with some decent results.

Friday consisted of two practice sessions and I was 13th on the charts. We qualified early on Saturday morning and I was confident with our car and pace, so I was going for broke! Unfortunately, on my first flying lap the right rear drive shaft gave way which meant I had to watch the rest of the session from the sidelines.

Race 1 was full on. Starting P22 and last, I passed 8 cars before Turn 2 and 15 cars in total to cross the line P7. I was happy with my recovery and confident we were back in the hunt for the remaining two races on Sunday.

Race 2 was our enduro race for the weekend. It was 28 laps long and consisted of two safety car periods after a couple of quite large crashes. Lots of good on track battles throughout the race. I was as high as P4 at one stage but got shuffled back to P6 after a mistake on the second restart. However, some moves during the last couple of laps saw me climb to P5 where we crossed the line.

Race 3 we had another good start and worked our way to P3. We struggled for a bit of pace in this one and dropped back to P5 after a few laps where we stayed for the rest of the race.

All in all, I am relatively happy with the weekend. Especially considering our issues early on. However, we have some work to do to move up in the championship points and now its full steam ahead to prepare for Round 4. We will come back swinging!

Round 4 is set to be held at Sydney Motorsport Park (NSW) on August 20-22.
