World Time Attack Preview

We are back behind the wheel of ‘Matey’ this weekend as part of the World Time Attack Challenge. It’s been over two years since it was last on track at the Phillip Island Classic, so I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel!

The McLaren M8E produces 850hp and only weighs 800kg, meaning the power to weight ratio is better than modern Formula 1 cars! It is expected to reach 310kph down the main straight of Sydney Motorsport Park.

We will be on track four times across the Friday and Saturday event. Our runs will be at 5pm and 8pm both days, so it will certainly be a spectacle under the lights. If you are at the event, be sure to come say hi! Otherwise, tune into my social media channels and I will post the link to the event livestream.

World Time Attack isn’t about wheel to wheel racing, rather it is about ultimate pace over a lap. There are loads of awesome cars on track and lap records are expected to tumble as drivers and teams from around the world fight to produce the fastest cars. It is the first time the event has been held since 2019.
