Sandown Carrera Cup Preview

This weekend we are back on track for Round 6 of the Porsche Carrera Cup Championship at Sandown! Coming off the back of a couple of tricky rounds, we have hit the reset button and going back to basics this weekend.

Sandown is short and bumpy circuit known best for its big curbs at Turns 2 and 3. It’s an exciting circuit which promotes great racing. Over the past few years some of my favourite on track battles have been at Sandown, so I am hoping for more this weekend!

We have our normal 3 day format with two practice sessions on Friday. Fortunately, I’ve done plenty of laps around the circuit so our priority for Friday is getting the car in the window in the forecasted cold and wet conditions!

On Saturday, due to the short nature of the track, we are back to our short 10-minute split Qualifying format. Much like Winton earlier in the year, I predict getting the tyres up to temperature as quickly as possible will be the main objective in order to Qualify up the front.

We have one 18 lap race Saturday afternoon followed by a 31 lap Race Sunday morning and a final 18 lap race Sunday afternoon. As always in Carrera Cup, Qualifying is key to setup for a good weekend. We know what we have to do this weekend, my sights are set and I am hunting for more race wins.

As always, all sessions this weekend will be televised and streamed LIVE on Fox Sports 506 and Kayo. Check out the schedule below. If you’re spectating at the track I’d love to see you, so come say hi and check out the Hastings Deering Porsche GT3! .

Cheers!!
Harri
