Sandown Carrera Cup Preview

The wait is finally over!! Round one of the 2021 Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup is upon us. A busy weekend lies ahead, and its been made even more frantic with the event spanning over two days instead of the usual three.

We have worked so hard over the off season and I’m confident we are in a good position leading into the weekend. Historically Sandown has been a great track for us. We have taken multiple Pole positions and race wins here (including a round win at the Porsche Motorsport Festival in December last year) and momentum is on our side.

Saturday will be a test of mental fitness and focus with four sessions on track between 9am and 4pm. Fortunately, this has been the prominent focus in my training at Athletic Republic. Sunday is a bit more laid back with only two races, but Race 2 is a 30 lap endurance event, so there is not room for complacency there.

The keen eye will have noticed a few changes to my livery for 2021. Athletic Republic have joined us on the Carrera Cup journey and I’m incredibly thankful for the continued support from HeliMods, MacKellar Group, Classic and Race Storage, Jones Motorsport and Bakslap! Fingers crossed we can make them proud! If you would like to learn more about my sponsors and what they do, check out my sponsors page.

Needless to say, I’m pretty keen to get back on track. Hopefully I’ll see you at the track over the weekend! Otherwise, the schedule is below and all sessions will be broadcasted LIVE on Fox Sports 506 and Kayo.

Cheers!!
Harri
