Jones savours online racing, keen to push in Porsche Cup

He can’t get outside on the blacktop, but it hasn’t stopped Buderim’s Harri Jones from testing his skills against some world-class speedsters, including Formula 1 and Supercar stars.

The 20-year-old had just started his debut Porsche Carrera Cup season behind the wheel of his power-packed 911 GT3 before the coronavirus pandemic brought a halt to all racing in March.

Prior to the shutdown, he’d relished some early promising signs, landing solid results in the opening round at the Adelaide 500 and the first of three races at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne to be placed 10th of 23 drivers in the standings.

With racing on hold, and eager to keep his competitive fire alive, Jones, like many, has turned to virtual simulator racing.
